PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS
NEW HAMPSHIRE MAN SENTENCED TO 38 MONTHS
FOR FELON IN POSSESSION OF FIREARM CHARGE
CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE: United States Attorney John P. Kacavas reports that Justin Reynolds, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, appeared today in the U.S. District Court in Concord and was sentenced by Judge Steven J. McAuliffe on one charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm, to which Reynolds had previously pled guilty. Reynolds was sentenced to 38 months in prison, followed by a period of three years of supervised release.
Reynolds was found in possession of a .22 caliber pistol and arrested in Bedford, New Hampshire on the evening of December 29, 2007. Reynolds had previously been convicted of a felony.
The case was investigated by the Manchester Police Department, the New Hampshire State Police, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Project Safe Neighborhoods is a federal program to reduce gun violence in New Hampshire by aggressive investigation and prosecution of firearm offenders, education of the public, and training of law enforcement officers about federal firearm laws.
Special Assistant U.S.Attorney Kenneth L. Perkes prosecuted the case.
