INDIAN COUNTRY CASE UPDATE


LESTER LEIGH JOHNSON, Walker River Indian Reservation, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on July 14, 2004. On November 23, 2004, Johnson entered a plea of guilty to one count of Assault With a Dangerous Weapon. On April 7, 2005, Johnson was sentenced to 41 months imprisonment, $100.00 fine, 3 years probation and restitution in the amount of $8,870.75.

JUSTIN ALEXANDER CALVIN, Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on August 11, 2004, on one count of Involuntary Manslaughter. He is charged with failing to maintain his lane of travel while under the influence of alcohol, causing the death of Audrey Winap. On December 10, 2004, Calvin entered a plea of guilty to the one count Indictment. On April 7, 2005, Calvin was sentenced to 20 months imprisonment, $100 fine, 3 years probation and restitution in the amount of $2,600.00.

JILL ANNETTE MIX, Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury, on October 6, 2004, in a one count indictment charging her with Embezzlement from a Tribal Organization. She is charged with embezzling approximately $16,000.00 from the I-80 Smoke Shop. On January 14, 2005, Mix entered a plea of guilty to the one count Indictment. Mix was sentenced on April 21, 2005 to 3 years probation, $100.00 fine and restitution in the amount of $21, 438.34.

TREVOR DUNN, Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation, was charged in a one count information with Embezzlement from a Tribal Organization. On February 1, 2005, Dunn entered a plea of guilty to the one count information. On May 3, 2005, Dunn was sentenced to 3 years probation, $25.00 fine and restitution in the amount of $4,950.00.

HAROLD RIDLEY, Reno/Sparks Indian Colony, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury, on October 20, 2004, with one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one count of Assault Resulting
in Serious Bodily Injury. He is charged with stabbing Tony Langweather in the neck. On December 8, 2004, Ridley entered a plea of guilty to Assault with a Deadly Weapon. On April 7, 2005, he was sentenced to 46 months imprisonment, $100.00 fine and 3 years probation.

TROY DALE ARTHUR, Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on December 8, 2004, in a one count indictment charging him with Sexual Abuse of a Minor. On March 7, 2005, Arthur entered a plea of guilty to Abusive Sexual Contact. On May 24, 2005, Arthur was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment, consecutive to the 33 month term of imprisonment he is currently serving.

RODNEY LEWIS HARNEY, Duck Valley Indian Reservation, was charged by information with four counts of Assault. Harney is charged with assaulting a juvenile, who had not attained the age of 16 years at the time of the incident. Harney’s trial in Federal Court has been set for July 11, 2005.

 

RODNEY LEWIS HARNEY, Duck Valley Indian Reservation, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on January 18, 2005, in a one count indictment charging him with Sexual Abuse of a Minor. His trial in Federal Court has been set for July 12, 2005.

CONNIE LOUISE WILCOX-FAST HORSE, Fallon Reservation, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on December 22, 2004, in a one count indictment charging her with Larceny. Her trial in Federal Court has been set for July 11, 2005.

LAVERN CHARLES FAST-HORSE, Fallon Reservation, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on December 22, 2004, in a one count indictment charging him with Larceny. His trial in Federal Court has been set for July 11, 2005.

DAVID “DUKE” MOOSE, Jr., Walker River Indian Reservation, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on March 2, 2005, in a one count indictment charging him with Assault With a Dangerous Weapon With Intent to do Bodily Harm. Moose is charged with assaulting Benjamin James Williams and April Davenport with a shotgun. His trial in Federal Court has been set for July 26, 2005.

MICHAEL EUGENE DAVIS, Walker River Indian Reservation, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on March 30, 2005, in a one count indictment charging him with Aggravated Sexual Abuse. Davis was charged with beating and raping the victim. On May 4, 2005, Davis entered a plea of guilty to the one count indictment. His sentencing in Federal Court has been set for July 27, 2005.

DOUGLAS HERZER, Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on April 27, 2005, with one count of Attempted Murder, one count of Assault With Intent to Commit Murder and one count of Assault With a Dangerous Weapon With Intent to do Bodily Harm. Herzer is charged with beating the victim with a metal object and then throwing gasoline on her and setting her on fire. His trial in Federal Court has been set for June 20, 2005.

NIGEL BRANDON FLOREZ, Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on April 27, 2005, with one count of Assault With a Dangerous Weapon With Intent To Do Bodily Harm. Florez is charged with assaulting the victim with a knife. His trial in Federal Court has been set for July 12, 2005.

KINDLE MARIE JOHNNY, Wells Indian Colony, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on April 27, 2005, with one count of Embezzlement from a Tribal Organization. She was charged with embezzling approximately $37,000.00 from the Wells Indian Colony. Her trial in Federal Court has been set for July 26, 2005.

GUY JOHNNY, Wells Indian Colony, was charged by information with one misdemeanor count of Assault. He is charged with kicking and/or punching the victim. His initial appearance in Federal Court was on June 6, 2005.
