Today Michael Rigas pleaded guilty to superseding Information S2 02 Cr. 1236 (JSR), which charges one count of making a false entry in the records of a telecommunications carrier (Adelphia Communications Corporation) in violation of 47 U.S.C. 220(e).
Sentencing has been scheduled for Friday, March 3, 2006.

On April
26, 2005, the Government applied for court approval of: (1) the settlement agreement
between the Government and the Rigas Family concerning the pending forfeiture
action against John J. Rigas and Timothy J. Rigas ("the Rigas Settlement
Agreement"); and (2) certain notice procedures to be followed by the Government
in alerting victims to future court proceedings relating to the criminal case,
United States v. John J. Rigas, et al., (S1) 02 Cr. 1236 (LBS), as required
by the Justice For All Act of 2004.
On April 27, 2005, the Hon. Leonard B. Sand, United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York, issued an Amended Orrder which gives victims and other interested parties an opportunity to be heard on the Government's proposed notice procedures under the Justice For All Act. You should read the full text of the Court's Amended Order as well as the Government's application. A copy of the Court's Amended Order and the Government's application for that order can be found by clicking [here].
In substance, the Amended Order provides that any person wishing to be heard by the Court concerning the Government's proposed notice procedures must do so in writing on or before May 10, 2005. All such submissions should be addressed to:
