LECC Training Seminars

The LECC sponsors or co-sponsors no or low-cost training seminars addressing various contemporary topics of interest to law enforcement officials. These seminars are made available to all federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. Recent topics include anti-terrorism, firearms reduction, hate crimes, violence in schools and racial profiling. In addition, the LECC has undertaken activities and initiatives to promote drug demand reduction awareness and prevention programs.

Recent successful seminars include an Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council Training on "Terrorism Trends ands Tactics " attended by over 380 state, local and federal law enforcement officials; a Computer Facilitated Child Exploitation Conference, attended by 152 people; and a Project Safe Neighborhoods Gun Recovery and Enforcement Training Program, attended by over 250 law enforcement representatives. We also co-sponsored a three-day hate crimes conference, which was attended by nearly 100 community leaders and residents; and a one-day conference attended by 272 members of law enforcement and community leaders. Other examples include a Professionalism, Ethics and Substance Abuse Seminar attended by 268 federal and county prosecutors, a National DOJ Conference on Offender Re-Entry attended by more than 1,400 people, and a Community Crime Summit in Youngstown, Ohio.
