Laura L. Dixon, age 50, of Toledo, Ohio, charged with embezzlement of labor union

A criminal information was filed against Laura L. Dixon, age 50, of Toledo, Ohio, charging her with embezzlement of labor union, said Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.
The activity took place between January 2005 to in or about March 2010, when Dixon was employed as an office secretary by the Ohio and Vicinity Regional Counsel of Carpenters, according to court documents.
The embezzlement totaled between $70,000 and $170,216, according to court documents.
If convicted, the defendant’s sentence will be determined by the Court after reviewing factors unique to this case, including the defendant’s prior criminal record, if any, the defendant’s role in the offense and the characteristics of the violation. In all cases the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum and in most cases it will be less than the maximum.
The investigating agency in this case is the United States Department of Labor, Office of Labor-Management Standards, Cleveland, Ohio. The case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas O. Secor..
