LAW ENFORCEMENT COORDINATING
COMMITTEE (LECC)

LAW ENFORCEMENT DIRECTORY

Based upon the findings of a task force in the late 1970s, it was determined that a centrally-located office was needed to help increase communication and efficiency between various law enforcement organizations at all levels. The United States Attorneys' Offices were selected as the most logical location to house this program.

On July 21, 1981, the Attorney General established a Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (LECC) in all U.S. Attorneys' Offices to promote and facilitate better communication between federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, and to identify specific training and resource needs of the district and help locate resources to address such needs.

The LECC for the Eastern District of Oklahoma actively promotes better communications between law enforcement agencies within the district, and helps to process federal grants and funding to agencies that qualify.

If you have any questions regarding the duties of the Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee, please contact the LECC at (918) 684-5100 ext. 5162.
