Muskogee Man Pleads Guilty To Assault On Federal Officer

Muskogee, Oklahoma - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced today that ZACHARY RYAN ROGERS, age 21, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, pled guilty to Assault on a Federal Officer, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 111(a)(1) and (b).

The charge arose from an investigation by the United States Marshal Service. The defendant was indicted in December, 2012.

The Indictment alleged that on or about November 6, 2012, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant, did knowingly and intentionally assault by physical contact, a Special Deputy United States Marshal who was at the time acting in the performance of official duties, inflicting bodily injury.

The Honorable Steven P. Shreder, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the guilty plea and ordered the completion of a presentence report. Sentencing will be scheduled following its completion.

The statutory range of punishment is not more than 20 years imprisonment and/or up to a $250,000.00 fine.
