Mexican National Pleads Guilty To Meth Distribution
Muskogee, Oklahoma - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced today that LUIS MARTINEZ-AYALLA, a/k/a Eduardo Luis Martinez, age 32, of Oaxaca, Mexico, pled guilty to Possession of Controlled Substances with Intent to Distribute, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(B)(viii).
The charge arose from an investigation by the District 16 District Attorney’s Drug Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security. The defendant was indicted in February, 2013.
The Indictment alleged that beginning on an unknown date and time and continuing until on or about June 24, 2012, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, and elsewhere, the defendant, did willfully and knowingly combine, conspire, confederate and agree together, and with others known and unknown to the Grand Jury, to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
The Honorable Steven P. Shreder, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the guilty plea and ordered the completion of a presentence report. Sentencing will be scheduled following its completion.
The statutory range of punishment is not less than 5 years or more than 40 years imprisonment and/or up to a $5,000,000.00 fine.
