Okmulgee Woman Pleads Guilty To Counterfeiting
Muskogee, Oklahoma - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced that MARCI MICHELLE MADAMA, age 42, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, pled guilty to Manufacturing a Counterfeit Instrument, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 472 and 2.
Charges arose from an investigation by the Okmulgee Police Department and the United States Secret Service. The defendant was indicted in February, 2013.
The Indictment alleges that on or about September, 2011, and continuing until in or about October, 2012, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant with intent to defraud, did counterfeit obligations of the United States.
The Honorable Kimberly E. West, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the guilty plea and ordered the completion of a presentence report. Sentencing will be scheduled following its completion.
The statutory range of punishment is not more than 20 years imprisonment and/or up to a $250,000.00 fine. The defendant remains in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending sentencing.
