Boswell Man Sentenced To 24 Months Probation For Embezzlement
Muskogee, Oklahoma - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced that DEMARIUS DEMICO HENDERSON, age 24, of Boswell, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 2 years of probation for Embezzlement and Theft from an Indian Tribal Organization, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1163.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Choctaw Nations Tribal Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The defendant was indicted in August, 2012 and pled guilty in October, 2012.
The Indictment alleged that on or about March 5, 2011, and continuing until on or about March 12, 2011, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant did embezzle, steal and willfully and knowingly convert to his own use, property valued in excess of $1,000.00, belonging to the Choctaw Nation, an Indian tribal organization.
The Honorable James H. Payne, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, presided over the hearing.
Assistant United States Attorney Dean Burris represented the United States.
