Muskogee Woman Pleads Guilty To Theft Of OESC Funds

Muskogee, Oklahoma - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced that JEANNA CUNNINGHAM, age 50, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, pled guilty to an Information charging her with Theft of Government Funds, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 641.

The charges arose from an investigation by the United States Department of Labor – Office of Inspector General.

The Information alleged that on or about July 12, 2008, and continuing through March 17, 2012, within in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant, willfully and knowingly embezzled, stole and converted to her own use, money and things of value from the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC), an agency receiving funds administered on behalf of the federal government, to which defendant knew she was not entitled and having a value in excess of $1,000.

The Honorable Kimberly E. West, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the defendant’s guilty plea, and ordered the completion of a presentence report. Sentencing will be scheduled upon its completion. The defendant remains on bond pending sentencing.
