Two Texarkana TX Men Plead Guilty To Possession Of Stolen Firearms
Muskogee, Oklahoma - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced today that BRIAN MATTHEW SELF, age 30, and MICHAEL WADE MCBRIDE, age 22, both of Texarkana, Texas, pled guilty to being a Possession of Stolen Firearms, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(j) and 18 U.S.C. Section 2.
Charges arose from an investigation by the McAlester Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The defendants were indicted in November, 2013.
The Indictment alleged that on or about May 6, 2013, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendants did receive, conceal, store, barter, sell or dispose of stolen firearms and had reasonable cause to believe such firearms had been stolen.
The Honorable Steven P. Shreder, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the guilty plea and ordered the completion of presentence reports. Sentencings will be scheduled following their completions. The defendants will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending sentencing.
The statutory range of punishment is not more than 10 years imprisonment and/or up to a $250,000 fine.
