MANNING MAN SENTENCED TO SERVE 140 MONTHS IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

Defendant Served Prison Time for Prior Delivery of a Controlled Substance Convictions

 

Portland, Ore. – Carlos Aron Paladini, 39, Manning, Oregon, was sentenced on September 3, 2009, by United States District Judge Ancer L. Haggerty to serve 140 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Paladini was also ordered to serve a federal supervised release term of three years following his release from prison. Paladini’s criminal history includes three prior state convictions for delivery of a controlled substance. Defendant pled guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine on March 6, 2009, and has been in custody since his arrest on January 14, 2009.

On January 14, 2009, at about 3:00 p.m., members of the Metro Gang Task Force along with members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted surveillance of Paladini, who was a known methamphetamine dealer in Washington County. After observing a suspected narcotics transaction, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop of Paladini’s vehicle in the area of NW 185th Avenue and NW Cornell Road and located over 60 grams of methamphetamine in five bags, $1,400.00 in cash, and two digital scales.

The Metro Gang Task Force and Washington County Sheriff’s Office successfully investigated the case. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Fred W. Slaughter.
