Portland, Ore. – Arsen Anthony Abouchiani, 31, Portland, Oregon, was sentenced on October 19, 2009 by United States District Judge Michael W. Mosman to serve 80 months in prison for distributing methamphetamine. Abouchiani was also ordered to serve a federal supervised release term of five years following his release from prison. Abouchiani’s criminal history includes prior state convictions for delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and forgery. Defendant pled guilty to one count of distribution of methamphetamine on May 5, 2009 after being charged with three counts of distribution of methamphetamine and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Abouchiani has been in custody since his arrest on February 27, 2009.
Between February 23, 2009 and February 25, 2009, an undercover law enforcement agent made arrangements to purchase a quarter-pound of methamphetamine from Abouchiani. On February 26, 2009, at about 1:30 p.m., Abouchiani met with the undercover law enforcement agent and distributed approximately 108 grams of methamphetamine.
The Metro Gang Task Force and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives successfully investigated the case. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Fred W. Slaughter.
