June 27, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced that a federal grand jury returned a one count indictment* charging Randolph Sanders with possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, in violation of 21 U.S.C. §841(a)(1), (b)(1)(B). According to the indictment, on November 14, 2006, Sanders was found to be in possession of about 995 grams of cocaine.

If convicted the defendant faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years up to lifetime in prison, a mandatory minimum term of supervised release of 8 years, a fine of $4,000,000, and a special assessment of $100.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Philadelphia Police Department and has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Roberta Benjamin.
