United States Attorney's Office News Release

 

March 8, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an indictment* charging James Kelly Jr. with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The indictment charges that the defendant knowingly possessed a loaded .357 magnum after having convicted a felony in Pennsylvania.

If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment; 5 years supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Lower Southampton Township Police Department and has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Richard J. Zack.
