United States Attorney's Office News Release

 

May 18, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of a one-count indictment* against James Ridel Adams, charging him with illegal reentry into the United States by an alien previously convicted of a felony.

The indictment specifically charges that, on or about March 23, 2007, James Ridel Adams, who previously had been deported, was found to have unlawfully reentered the United United States.

If convicted, the defendant faces the following: A possible maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment, an $250,000 dollar fine, and a maximum of 3 years supervised release.

The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. The case has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney K.T. Newton.
