May 9, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan announced the filing of a nine-count indictment* charging defendant VICKIE FREEMAN with conspiracy, dealing in firearms without a license and aiding and abetting, and making false statements to federally licensed firearms dealers in order to “straw purchase” 19 firearms, one of which was a semiautomatic assault weapon, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 371, 922(a)(1)(A), 924(a)(1)(A), and 2.

If convicted, FREEMAN faces an advisory sentencing guidelines range conservatively estimated to be approximately 21-27 months imprisonment.

This case was investigated by the Reading, Pennsylvania Office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives with the aid of the Emmaus Police Department. The case has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Eric B. Henson.
