Illegal Reentry After Deportation
Gilberto Bastida-Espectia, a/k/a “Gilberth Espectia,” 39, of Norristown, PA, was charged today by indictment with one count of illegal reentry after deportation, announced United States Attorney Zane D. Memeger. The indictment alleges that on November 10, 2011, Bastida-Espectia, a native and citizen of Mexico, was found in the United States after having been previously removed from the United States on January 30, 2001 and March 22, 2005.
If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison, a three-year term of supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment.
The case was investigated by Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Frank R. Costello, Jr.
