Illegal Reentry After Deportation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jose Luis Flores-Mejia, a/k/a “Jose Flores-Mejia,” a/k/a “Jose Luis Mejia,” a/k/a “Manuel Mendez,” 41, of Trenton, NJ, was charged today by indictment with one count of illegal reentry after deportation, announced United States Attorney Zane D. Memeger. The indictment alleges that on or about November 7, 2011, Flores-Mejia, an alien, and native and citizen of Mexico, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about August 5, 2003, August 18, 2003, October 3, 2006, August 28, 2009 and August 11, 2010.

If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison, a three-year term of supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment.

The case was investigated by Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jeffery W. Whitt.
