Indicted On Drug Charges

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Anthony Haines, 39, and Trevon Roberts, 30, both of Philadelphia, were charged today by indictment with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana, use of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger.  In addition, Haines was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  The indictment charges that Haines and Roberts committed these offenses in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from on or about April 12, 2011 through on or about July 13, 2011.

     
If convicted of all charges, Haines faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years imprisonment consecutive to any other sentence and a mandatory minimum sentence of fifteen years as an Armed Career Criminal, to be served consecutive to any other sentence.  Haines also faces a maximum period of supervised release of life, a mandatory minimum of six years supervised release, a $6,500,000 fine, and a $500 special assessment. 


If convicted of all charges, Roberts faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years imprisonment consecutive to any other sentence.  Roberts also faces a maximum period of supervised release of life, a mandatory minimum of three years supervised release, a $2,250,000 fine, and a $300 special assessment.


This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Richard A. Lloret and V. Paige Pratter.
