Two Men Charged In Alleged Cocaine Ring
An indictment was unsealed today against Wayne Johnakin, a/k/a “Wiz,”45, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and Otis Lee Reese, 34, of Portsmouth, Virginia, charging them with one count of conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. In addition, Johnakin is charged with two counts of cocaine distribution and Reese is charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
If convicted of all charges, Johnakin would face a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison with a maximum possible sentence of life, a $16 million fine, a lifetime of supervised release, and a mandatory $300 special assessment. Reese would face the same possible prison sentences, a $12 million fine, a lifetime of supervised release, and a mandatory $200 special assessment.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Vineet Gauri.
