Penn Valley Man Charged With Filing False Tax Returns
Jeffrey Scher, 48, of Penn Valley, PA, was charged today by Information with five counts of filing a false income tax return, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger.
If convicted, Scher faces a maximum possible sentence of 15 years imprisonment, a $1,250,000 fine, three years of supervised release, and a $500 special assessment.
The case was investigated by Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Linwood C. Wright, Jr.
