Six Charged In A Drug Conspiracy

PHILADELPHIA – An indictment was filed today charging Arnaldo Rodriguez, 34, Fernando Garcia, 32, Alfonso Vallejo-Garcia, 44, Jhon Torres, 34, Jairo Nunez-Dejesus, 35, and Antonio Ferreira-Reyes, 34, with a drug conspiracy, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. Rodriguez and Garcia are from Philadelphia; Vallejo-Garcia is from Brownsville, Texas; Torres is from Macungie, PA; Nunez-Dejesus is from Allentown, PA; and Ferreira-Reyes is from Whitehall, PA.

According to the indictment, the defendants conspired to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine. The indictment also charges all six defendants with one count of possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, and aiding and abetting. Jairo Nunez-Dejesus is additionally charged with one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

If convicted of all counts, Rodriguez faces a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment, a $40 million fine, a mandatory minimum of 10 years supervised release, and a $200 special assessment. Defendants Garcia, Vallejo-Garcia, Torres, and Ferreira-Reyes each face a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison with a maximum sentence of life, a $20 million fine, a mandatory minimum term of four years supervised release, and a $200 special assessment. Defendant Nunez-Dejesus faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison with a maximum sentence of life, a $20.25 million fine, a mandatory minimum term of four years supervised release, and a $300 special assessment.
