philadelphia man Charged With production of child pornography

Steven Mazer, 25, of Philadelphia, was arrested Friday on a criminal complaint charging him with production of child pornography. Mazer teaches karate at a school in the Bustleton section of Philadelphia which offers classes to children. Mazer made an initial appearance in magistrate’s court today and remains in federal custody pending a formal indictment. If convicted, the defendant faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison with a maximum possible sentence of 30 years in prison.

The case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Vineet Gauri.
