woman Charged in straw purchase of two guns
Vanessa Marie Rivera, 23, of Philadelphia, PA was charged today by Indictment with two counts of making a false statement to a federally licensed firearms dealer in order to “straw purchase” two firearms, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger and Philadelphia District Attorney R. Seth Williams.
If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 10 years imprisonment, a $500,000 fine, a three year period of supervised release and a $200 special assessment.
The case was investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Vicki J. Markovitz.
