June 2, 2006- United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan and Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham today announced the unsealing of a four-count indictment* charging SAMMER YASIN, OTTMAN DAHER, ABU HAM AND KEVIN PITTS with conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, interference with commerce by robbery, and use of a firearm during a crime of violence, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 1951 and 924( c). Sammer Yasin is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(g). The indictment alleges that on April 25, 2005, YASIN, DAHER, HAM and PITTS committed the gunpoint robbery of the Applebees Restaurant located at 2501 Aramingo Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This case was investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department , the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms. This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a federal initiative designed to identify and prosecute firearms offenders in federal court, where the defendant is likely to receive a substantial sentence upon conviction.

If convicted each defendant face a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment, including a mandatory term of 7 years imprisonment, five years supervised release, a $750,000 fine and a $300 special assessment.
