June 29, 2006 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan and Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham today announced the filing of an indictment* charging Andrew Davis with one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. According to the indictment, on February 16, 2006, the defendant possessed a fully loaded .38 caliber revolver.

If convicted of all charges, the total maximum penalty is 10 years in prison,
three years supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment.

The case was investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department and the Bureau
of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms Violent Crime Impact Team, and is part of
Project Safe Neighborhoods, an initiative by the United States Attorney’s
Office, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol
Tobacco & Firearms, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Philadelphia
Police Department to identify and prosecute firearms offenders in federal court,
where the defendant is likely to receive a substantial sentence upon conviction.
The case has been assigned to Special Assistant United States Attorney Joseph
LaBar.
