United States Attorney's Office News Release

 

June 13, 2006 - United States Attorney Pat Meehan today announced the filing of a one-count superseding information* charging defendant Rodney Francis Hicks with bank robbery. The charge arises out of the defendant’s robbery of the Wachovia Bank in the Cheltenham Shopping Center on December 16, 2005. Hicks is charged with presenting two notes to the Wachovia Bank teller, demanding that she turn over money and warning her that he had a gun. Hicks fled the bank, but was quickly apprehended by Cheltenham Police after the dye pack in the bank bag exploded in his hands.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cheltenham Police Department, and has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Michelle T. Rotella.
