June 21, 2006 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an indictment* charging Boris Malinsky with one count of health care fraud, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1347. The indictment alleges that in or about December 1999, through in or about June 2002, defendant Malinsky, together with others, executed a scheme and artifice to defraud health care benefit programs by submitting and causing to be submitted fraudulent health care insurance claims for medical treatment and physical therapy services, when defendant knew that the treatment and services claimed had not in fact been provided as requested. Boris Malinsky faces a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment, 3 years supervised release, a $250,000 fine and a $100 special assessment.
