June 26, 2006 - Patrick L. Meehan, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, today announced the filing of an information* against Victoria Pappa, charging her with providing contraband in prison; the information alleges that Pappa, on or about August 6, 2005, provided and attempted to provide to an inmate of a federal prison, that is, the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia, a prohibited object, that is, a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of heroin, a Schedule I narcotic controlled substance.
If convicted of the offense charged, the defendant faces the following maximum
penalties:
Victoria Pappa: 20 years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine and a special assessment of $100.
