June 21, 2006 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan and Lehigh County District Attorney James B. Martin today announced the filing of a 2-count indictment* charging ORLANDO J. RODRIGUEZ with theft of 48 firearms from a federal firearms licensee, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(u) (1 count), and possession of 48 stolen firearms, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(j).
The indictment charges that on October 29, 2006, the defendant RODRIGUEZ stole 48 firearms, including a semiautomatic rifle equipped with a scope and a pistol equipped with a scope from a federally licensed firearms dealer.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years imprisonment, 3 years supervised release, a $500,000 fine, and a $200 special assessment.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, the Allentown Police Department, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office and has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Eric B.
