May 11, 2006- United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of a two-count indictment* charging Francisco Acosta, a/k/a "Francisco Lopez," "Juan O. Clavell," a native and citizen of the Dominican Republic, with one count of unlawfully re-entering the United States following his deportation from the United States in October 2003, and one count of falsely claiming to be a United States citizen. The charges relate to his presence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 19, 2005.
If convicted, the defendant faces up to 23 years imprisonment, up to three years supervised release, and a $500,000 fine.
