October 17, 2006 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan announced the filing of a two-count indictment* charging Zahoor Ahmad, a/k/a Mohammad Zahur Sheikh, one count of attempting to procure naturalization (citizenship) contrary to law, and one count of making false statements in a matter relating to naturalization. It is alleged that Ahmad/Sheikh lied on an application to become a United States citizen when he failed to reveal a prior name he used, and that he provided false information while applying for an immigration benefit or to prevent deportation, exclusion, or removal.

These cases were investigated by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Upon conviction, Ahmad/Sheikh faces a maximum statutory sentence of fifteen years imprisonment.
