October 4, 2006 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an Information* charging defendant Laila Loukhnati with 1 count of aggravated identity theft.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 2 years imprisonment, to be served consecutive to any sentence for the underlying predicate felony, a $250,000 fine, a 3 year period of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.

The case was investigated by Federal Bureau of Investigation and has been assigned to Susan L. Fields, Assistant United States Attorney.
