October 11, 2006 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of a two-count indictment* charging ABDUL RASHEED with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a)(1)(Count 1) and possession with intent to distribute cocaine within 1000 feet of a school (Count 2), in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 860(a). The indictment alleges that on March 4, 2006, RASHEED was in possession of 397 grams of cocaine within 1000 feet of Germantown Senior High School.

Defendant RASHEED faces 90 years imprisonment, a mandatory minimum of one year imprisonment, 12 years of supervised release, a $6,000,000 fine, and a $200 special assessment.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Philadelphia Police Department.
