October 26, 2006 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an Indictment* against Gavin Robinson charging that Robinson defrauded losing bidders of internet auctions by offering to sell them the same or similar items. Robinson received payment by mail and wire for the items but failed to send the items to the victims. Over 50 individuals fell victim to Robinson’s scheme and, as a result, lost a total of approximately $26,296.46. Robinson has been charged with three counts of mail fraud, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1341 and three counts of wire fraud, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1343.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 120 years imprisonment, a three year period of supervised release, a $1,500,000 fine, and a $600 special assessment.
