October 11, 2006 - PHILADELPHIA - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of a Superseding Indictment* charging defendant George Rodgers with conspiracy to distribute cocaine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 846, possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base (“crack”), in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a)(1), possession with intent to distribute cocaine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a)(1), and felon in possession of a firearm, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(g)(1).

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment, at least a 10 year mandatory minimum term of imprisonment, five years to a lifetime of supervised release, an $9.25 million fine and special assessment.

The case was investigated by Federal Bureau of Investigation and has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Leo R. Tsao.
