February 26, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an indictment* against JAMMI ASKRA WILLIAMS and JAMMEL DELONO WRIGHT charging them with conspiracy to commit armed bank robbery, armed bank robbery and using firearms during a crime of violence. The indictment charges that the defendants robbed the PNC Bank at 330 Packer Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 17, 2006. Following the robbery, a third co-conspirator was fatally shot by police after he shot a Philadelphia police officer in the face. That officer survived his injury.

If convicted, the defendants each face a maximum sentence of Life imprisonment, including a 10 year mandatory minimum, and a $750,000 fine. The case was investigated by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police Department, and it has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Derek A. Cohen.
