July 19, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an indictment* charging LAMAR RAYSON with armed carjacking, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 2119(d) and 924(c), on November 17, 2006.

If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of lifetime imprisonment, a mandatory minimum of 7 years imprisonment, a mandatory minimum of 3 years supervised release up to lifetime supervised release, a $500,000 fine, and a $200 special assessment.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police Department. It has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Derek A. Cohen.
