July 31, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the unsealing of a seven-count indictment* against Ryan Tindal, charging him with distribution of cocaine base (“crack”), and distribution of crack within 1000 feet of a school.

The indictment specifically charges that: on or about July 7, 2006, Tindal distributed approximately 26.7 grams of crack; on or about July 12, 2006, he distributed approximately 26.6 grams of crack; on or about July 20, 2006, he distributed approximately 61.1 grams of crack; and on or about July 27, 2006, he distributed approximately 85.9 grams of crack. According to the indictment, on July 7, July 12, and July 20, 2006, Tindal distributed the crack cocaine within 1000 feet of Loesche Elementary School, located at 595 Tomlinson Road, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

If convicted, Tindal faces a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment, lifetime supervised release, and an multi- million dollar fine. This case was investigated by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) and is part of an joint city and federal effort to identify and prosecute drug dealers operating in the Frankford section of Philadelphia.
