LUZERNE COUNTY DRUG DEALER SENTENCED TO 57 MONTHS IN PRISON

Dennis C. Pfannenschmidt, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, announced that a New York man who participated in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, and heroin in Luzerne County in 2007, was sentenced today by U.S. District Court Judge James M. Munley to serve 57 months in federal prison.

Pfannenschmidt stated that Steve Adolphie, age 24, pleaded guilty on June 16, 2009, to conspiracy to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, and heroin.

Adolphie’s prosecution resulted from an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Pennsylvania State Police, and Wilkes-Barre Police. Pfannenschmidt noted that fifteen defendants were charged in the case and all but three have pleaded guilty to drug trafficking offenses.

Judge Munley also ordered Adolphie to serve three years of supervised release after serving his prison sentence, pay a fine of $250, and to pay a special assessment of $100.

Pfannenschmidt noted that the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa.
