YORK DRUG TRAFFICKER SENTENCED TO 210 MONTHS’ IMPRISONMENT

Martin C. Carlson, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, announced today that Charles Lewis Matthews, a/k/a “Bert Love,” “Shaun Calhoun” and “Bert Matthew” age 32, of York, Pennsylvania, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Yvette Kane to a 210-month term of imprisonment for distribution and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

According to U.S. Attorney Carlson, Matthews was stopped by police in York for a motorcycle violation. While speaking to him, officers discovered that Matthews had failed to register the motorcycle and also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. An inventory search was done on the motorcycle and over 54 grams of crack cocaine was found. Matthews also had over $9,000 in cash. He was indicted in January 2008 and pleaded guilty in April 2009.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the York County Drug Task Force and the York City Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Eric Pfisterer.
