
Alien Sentenced To Time Served For Illegally Re‑Entering The U.S.
PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ A resident of Pittsburgh, Pa., pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of re‑entry into the United States after deportation, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Saul Gonzalez‑Vela, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Gustave Diamond. Judge Diamond sentenced him to time served (approximately 2 1/2 months in jail) and one year supervised release.
In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that Saul Gonzalez‑Vela, an alien, was formally removed from the United States by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement on March 12, 2002. Gonzalez‑Vela was formally removed again from the United States on May 6, 2006. Gonzalez‑Vela was found on Nov. 3, 2010 in Pittsburgh.
Assistant United States Attorney Paul E. Hull is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
