Charleroi Man Sentenced To Prison For Robbing Local Bank

November 8 , 2011

PITTSBURGH, PA - A resident of Charleroi, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to 46 months in prison followed by three years supervised release on his conviction of one count of bank robbery, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

Senior United States District Judge Gustave Diamond imposed the sentence on Kurt Fritzel, 51.

According to information presented to the court, on Nov. 1, 2010, Fritzel robbed the Citizens Bank located at 501 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, Pa. As a result of the robbery, Fritzel obtained $227.00  in U.S. currency.

Assistant United States Attorney Charles A. Eberle prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Charleroi Police Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Fritzel.
