Erie Bank Robber Sentenced To 67 Months In Prison
ERIE, Pa. - A resident of Erie, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court to 67 months in jail and ordered to pay $3,447.00 in restitution on his conviction of bank robbery, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin imposed the sentence on Edward Laskey, age 46.
According to information presented to the court, on February 11, 2011, Laskey robbed the Marquette Savings Bank, located at 3404 Liberty Street in Erie. As a result of the robbery, Laskey obtained $3,447.00.
Prior to imposing sentence, Judge McLaughlin commented on Laskey's lengthy criminal record and clear addiction to cocaine.
Assistant United States Attorney Marshall J. Piccinini prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Erie Bureau of Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Laskey.
