Inmate Sentenced to More Prison Time for Assaulting Guard

ERIE, Pa. - An inmate of the McKean Federal Correctional Institution in Bradford, Pennsylvania has been sentenced in federal court to 19 months in prison on his conviction of assault of a federal officer, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

United States District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin imposed the sentence on Sean Edwards, 21. The sentence was imposed to run consecutively to the sentence Edwards is currently serving.

According to information presented to the court, on or about October 5, 2011, Edwards assaulted a corrections officer after refusing an order from the corrections staff.

Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended Officers of the McKean Federal Correctional Institution for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Edwards.
