Union City Man Sentenced for Fraudulent Online Purchases

ERIE, Pa. - A former resident of Union City, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court to 15 months in jail and ordered to make $10,080.12 in restitution on his conviction of access device fraud, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

United States District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin imposed the sentence on Joshua Raymond Raines, 23.

According to information presented to the court, Raines made online purchases with compromised credit card accounts that were issued by the Army Air Force Exchange Service.

Assistant United States Attorney Christine A. Sanner prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the United States Secret Service for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Raines.
