MAN CAUGHT IN HEROIN DISTRIBUTION SCHEME GETS 3 YEARS IN PRISON

United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced today, January 26, 2009, that Everett Hunt, a resident of Rahway, New Jersey, has been sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to 36 months imprisonment followed by 2 years supervised release for violating federal narcotics laws.

Senior United States District Judge Alan N. Bloch imposed the sentence on Hunt, age 50.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller, between March 2007 and March 5, 2008, Hunt conspired with Kelvin Turner, Dominic Times, Albert Tyrone McAllister, and Darnell Jackson to distribute and possess with intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin.

Ms. Buchanan commended the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Borough of West Mifflin Police Department, and the City of Pittsburgh Division of Weed and Seed for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Hunt.
