Statement of United States Attorney Peter F. Neronha in Reaction to the First Circuty Court of Appeals Ruling in the Matter of Jason Wayne Pleau

“Today’s ruling by the First Circuit Court of Appeals affirms our position from the outset, that is, that the Governor does not have the right to prevent a defendant properly charged by a federal grand jury from appearing in federal court to face federal charges. We are prepared, as we have been since December of 2010 when the federal grand jury returned its indictment of Mr. Pleau, to move forward with this case.”
